5 Things for Families to Do in Las Vegas in 2023

If you’re staying on the Las Vegas Strip, of course you’re wondering what the best activities for kids are nearby. Here are three things for families to do in Las Vegas on and within walking distance of the Strip.

1. Ride the Coasters Adventuredome at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino

While Circus Circus is one of the more dated properties on the Strip, the Adventuredome remains one of the best places for kids and teens to enjoy a day of adrenaline and fun. The Adventuredome houses roller coasters, circus acts, arcades and other games, all located within an air-conditioned dome.

2. Splash at Mandalay Bay

You can experience the water ( yes, in the desert!) in two epic ways at the Mandalay Bay. First, spend a day at the Mandalay Bay beach area, which will transport you to a more tropical getaway. Build sandcastles, fight the waves in the enormous wave pool, float the lazy river, and take your afternoon nap in a private cabana.

Then, head indoors to the Shark Reef Aquarium. This aquarium features a 360 tank that you can walk through and a touch pool. The aquarium is worth a few hours of your visit, as it is quite large.

3. See a Show

Many of Las Vegas’ best shows are family friendly. Cirque du Soleil is a classic Las Vegas experience–in 2023, you can catch O, The Beatles Love, Mystere, Michael Jackson One, and Ka. Note that Mad Apple is not family friendly, as you need to be at least 16 to enter.

Other notable shows for families in 2023 include TRANFIX at Resorts World, Immersive Van Gogh at Crystals, and Immersive Disney at Crystals.

But what if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas Strip for an afternoon? Don’t worry, there are plenty of family friendly Las Vegas experiences to be had away from the neon lights.

4. Race a Car (Or Ride in One)

Teenagers especially will love an experience at Las Vegas Dream Racing, a race track to the North of Las Vegas where you can literally drive a race car. Younger children can ride along with a professional driver, reaching speeds around 155 miles per hour.

Dream Racing offers multiple packages and cars. This is your chance to drive or ride in a Dodge Charger,  Audi R8 V10, an Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati. You’ll practice in driving simulators before hitting the track, and even be fitted for real racing gear during the thrill.

5. Valley of Fire

If you want to get closer to nature, head out to Valley of Fire. This state park is as stunning as its National Park counterparts, and has many features your family will enjoy. There is camping here, picnic spots, and a nature center. But, Valley of Fire is best for its trails. Mouse Tank trail is especially fun for the whole family, with rocks to climb and an interesting history. It’s easy too, with the most difficult aspect being the deep orange sand. White Domes is another great hike. But, make sure you bring plenty of water and sunscreen–this state park gets as hot as fire.
