6 Las Vegas Dog Parks to Visit with Your Furry Friend

Visiting Vegas with your best pal? Your one and only? Your absolute darling?  We’re talking about your dog, of course, and we’ve got a list of Las Vegas dog parks where you can take your best, albeit perhaps hairy, friend to have some fun.

Eastside

Justice Myron E. Leavitt & Jaycee Community Park

While the name may be a bit of a mouthful, this community park is the perfect size. At 18 acres, it’s grand enough to have everything you need, but small enough to feel like a welcome community. Here you’ll find a playground with a water mat, walking paths, shuffleboard and bocce courts, places for picnics and events, and, of course, dog runs. Justice Myron E Leavitt & Jaycee Community Park is located at 2100 E St Louis Ave in Las Vegas.

Clark County Dog Fancier’s Park

Located near Horseman’s Park, a venue for equestrian events and shows, Dog Fancier’s Park has not one, not two, but FIVE enclosed areas for your dog to explore. You can reserve one of the areas for yourself, or join in with others! Areas 1-4 can be reserved between 8am – 11pm, while Area 5 is kept open all the time (6am – 11pm). Unless there’s a reservation, however, all the areas are open to public use. 5800 E. Flamingo Rd.

Sunset Park

Sunset Park is vast, with over a dozen sports fields (including softball, little league, and basketball), playgrounds, a splash bad, tennis and volleyball courts, and more.  It has miles of walking trails, a beautiful lake, and, near Warm Springs, a dog run for your favorite furry friend. There’s a side for big and small dogs, and a shaded area for the moms and pops (…of the pups). Located at 2601 East Sunset Road.

Westside

Barkin’ Basin Park

As you’ve probably guessed by the name, this is a park MADE for dogs. Literally.  It has three separate, fenced in areas, including one for older, smaller, or shyer dogs, and one for younger, larger, or more active pups. At over 17 acres, it’s incredibly spacious, giving you and your mutt room to join in on the action or wander off on your own. It’s located at 7351 W Alexander Rd, next to the Wayne Bunker Family Park.

Winding Trails

If you’re looking for something on the smaller side, check out Winding Trails Park in North Las Vegas! There’s a fenced in area for dogs, of course, as well as a playground, picnic area, and walking path. Located at 7250 N Fort Apache Rd.

Henderson

Bark Park at Heritage Park

Bark Park at Heritage Park may just be the piece de resistance of Vegas dog parks. Designed specifically with pets and pet owners in mind, this 5 acre park has separate dog runs, agility courses, and walking trails. There are drinking stations, and even a giant, climbable mascot pup named Barkules. There’s also a splash pad just for dogs! It’s located at 350 S Racetrack Rd.
