A lot of people see “Queen of Hearts” as “Wonderland/Alice.” You have to be a true Las Vegas local to know that “Queen of Hearts” was also the name of the first Las Vegas casino owned by a woman. Her name was Anne Meyers. She paid for it in cash that she won from a poker match. The hotel and casino was demolished in 2004 and turned into City Hall. Today, the original sign for the hotel is located in the Neon Museum downtown.

An equally ambitious female entrepreneur, Certified Executive Pastry Chef Angela Sweetser, owns the Queen of Hearts chocolate and sugar art studio. As Seen on Food Network, Chef Sweetser is a Las Vegas sugar artist and chocolatier that specializes in high tea, catering private events, and deliciously decadent retail confections.
