The LA Comedy Club
The LA Comedy Club is Vegas’s source for comedy. With shows playing every night, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.
Times and Location
Location: Dragon Room, Stratosphere
Show Length: Approximately 60 minutes
Descriptions:
The “Cheers” theme song and the L.A. Comedy Club should go hand in hand. Not only is it a place where you can enjoy some of the best comedy in Las Vegas and also take a break from your troubles, but their friendly staff will soon know your name….if they haven’t learned it already, that is.
A sizable portion of this comedy club’s patrons are Las Vegas locals who have been ardent fans of the franchise ever since its initial launch at Palace Station seven years ago.
L.A. Comedy Club had a brief stint at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino (at the Trader Vic’s) and from there, they headed off to the Four Queens, with a stop at Horseshoe Las Vega (formally Bally’s) before making their new home at the Stratosphere.
Before the Show
Once you are inside of the venue, all of the typical comedy club hallmarks are present. The classic wooden stool and microphone setup is presented and accounted for and the large stage is flanked by two sizable video screens.
Before the show begins, these screens are used to broadcast various blooper and practical joke clips. There are no shortage of seating options available and no matter where you choose to sit, you will have an excellent view.
This club also follows a very simple format. Two well known road comics receive the bulk of the stage time and the majority of the performers are people that you will have some form of familiarity with.
The Acts
For example, Felipe Esparza is known for competing on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” while Tom Rhodes, Shang, Butch Bradley and others have HBO, Showtime or Comedy Central credits under their belts.
These comedians are paired with a Las Vegas host, another unique feature that the L.A. Comedy Club has to offer. Professional comics have access to a top notch venue and budding local talent receives the necessary nurturing.
Surprise guests or famous headliner friends pop in from time to time to surprise the crowd and the The L.A. Comedy Club now also provides an early show. We all love a great happy hour, but a comedy happy hour is even better. Lisa Landry serves as the headliner for the club’s “Happy Hour Comedy Show” and she has appeared CBS’ “Late Late Show,” Comedy Central and CMT.
For a great dose of laughs during your Las Vegas vacation, L.A. Comedy Club has just what the doctor ordered.
