The BackDoor

While the BackDoor has its share of mixed reviews, it’s also the only neighborhood Latino gay bar in the Las Vegas Valley. The BackDoor originally opened in the 1980s and went through several changes in ownership, a remodel, and a closure that lasted several years before recently reopening. Located on Charleston Boulevard between Downtown Las Vegas and the Arts District, this off-the-wall bar features late-night drag shows, Latin music, and plenty of drink specials.


Badlands Las Vegas

Stop in for a drink (or three) at Badlands Las Vegas, a saloon-themed gay bar in the Historic Commercial Center District. Located just east of the Sahara Las Vegas and open 24/7, this relaxed gay cowboy bar serves up strong drinks at great prices, including a BOGO Happy Hour every day from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, hang out with friends, or just play some pool, the recently-remodeled Badlands Las Vegas is a sure bet. Don’t miss their weekly lineup of events like Showtunes Sunday and Hump Day Karaoke, not to mention their Friday night drag show Hips, Heels, and Tucks.


Charlie’s Las Vegas

If Badlands isn’t country enough for you, you can always head over to Charlie’s Las Vegas, where the cowboy go-go dancers are always ready to party. This high-energy bar is located just west of the Strip, across the street from the Orleans. Charlie’s has a spacious dance floor, live DJs, weekly drag shows, and regularly hosts Wet Wednesdays, where men can drink free just by showing up in their underwear. You can also keep it low-key and partake in live bingo, video poker, or a game of pool. This is a great spot to sit back and people watch, or put yourself out there and mingle.


Flex Cocktail Lounge

Flex Cocktail Lounge is a friendly dive bar with a small-town feel. Enjoy cheap drinks and grab a bite to eat while you hang out with locals and tourists alike. Pick some tunes from the video jukebox, enjoy a fierce drag show, or play some pool at this 24/7 bar. This is a chill spot for day drinking with more lively weekends. Flex offers weekly events like Ladies Night Mondays, Disco Tuesdays, Karaoke Wednesdays, and live DJ sets Thursday through Saturday. FreeZone

Centrally located in the Fruit Loop (a group of Las Vegas gay bars and nightclubs located near Paradise Road), FreeZone is a nightclub and bar you won’t want to miss whilst in Las Vegas. This welcoming and inclusive space is open 24/7 and offers bottle service, an open dance floor, and a full restaurant. You’ll love their two-for-one drink specials, which are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. Enjoy a live DJ, pop-up performances, video poker, and weekly events like Amateur Drag Night Mondays, Trans Unity Tuesdays, Ladies Night Thursdays, and more.


Fun Hog Ranch

Fun Hog Ranch is an unpretentious gay dive bar with a saloon vibe, located less than two miles east of the Strip. Although fetish and leatherwear are strongly encouraged and patrons are generally men, everyone is welcome here. The casual and rustic interior is unintimidating, and the daily drink specials are kind to your wallet—you can enjoy BOGO drinks every day from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again from 1:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  Friendly, laidback staff and regular patrons will make you feel right at home while you strike up a great conversation or relax and play some video poker.


The Garage

The Garage is a Las Vegas gay bar in the University District with an auto-body shop theme (and yes, the bartenders are even dressed in mechanic uniforms). Here, you can sip on budget-friendly drinks in a relaxed atmosphere that doesn’t try too hard. The Garage also offers a full menu of made to order bar food and a cozy outdoor patio. Come here with friends to unwind and play a game of pool, darts, or shuffleboard. Drinks are two-for-one daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on top of weekly drink specials like $4 Long Islands and late night beer busts.


The Garden Las Vegas

The Garden Las Vegas is one of the newest gay bars in Sin City and is quickly making a name for itself. Located in the heart of the Arts District, this chic and intimate bar and lounge stands out from your average gay bar. While it may take a little while to get your feet in the door, The Garden is well worth the wait. From the bouncer to the bartenders, everyone who works here wants to make sure you have a great time. With an outdoor patio, plenty of indoor space, and VIP tables available for reservation, what’s not to love? Don’t miss Bottomless Drag Brunch on Sundays and Saturdays and the many Instagram-worthy photo ops throughout the venue. 


Jimmy’s at Madison’s

Jimmy’s at Madison’s is another one of Las Vegas’ newest gay bars that’s getting lots of good press—and for good reason. In particular, people are raving about their fabulous Sunday drag brunch, complete with $20 bottomless mimosas and Bellinis. Food service is fast and friendly, the space is cozy, and there’s something to do here every night of the week. Be sure to pop in for Soul Food Sundays, Tuesday Bingo Night, Latin Fridays, and Drag Queen Karaoke on Saturdays. Jimmy’s is also your neighborhood sports and gaming bar, offering roll over cash drawings, interactive promotions, and more.


The Las Vegas Eagle

3430 E Tropicana Ave Suite 47

The Las Vegas Eagle may not look like much from its strip mall storefront, but this neighborhood gay bar in the southeast part of town is a long-time local favorite. The bartenders here pour a stiff drink, and you can even drink for free on Tuesdays and Fridays if you show up in your underwear between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. The Las Vegas Eagle also hosts slot tournaments every Wednesday and pool tournaments each Thursday. Other offerings include drag queens, a DJ, a small dance floor, and an atmosphere one reviewer called “just the right amount of dingy.”


The Phoenix Bar & Lounge

The Phoenix Bar & Lounge is among the most popular gay bars in Las Vegas. Between the friendly drag performers and sexy dancers, you’re guaranteed to have a great time. The Phoenix is located just a few miles west of the Las Vegas Strip and is just a stone’s throw from Flex Cocktail Lounge. Patrons love the delicious bar food, fun atmosphere, diverse crowd, and judgment-free zone. Play pool, throw darts, or catch the latest Golden Knights game at one of their watch parties. Other popular events include Sunday Night Karaoke, Burning Burlesque Mondays, and Tuesday Music Video Bingo (the proceeds of which are often donated to charity). 


Piranha Nightclub

Piranha Nightclub is a lush gay nightclub (and yet another stop on the Fruit Loop) that has been voted the best gay bar in Las Vegas. This sprawling nightclub has three different dance floors, each offering different kinds of music including Latin, pop, hip-hop, EDM, and more. Piranha is often so busy on weekends that you may have to fight your way to the bar in order to be served by one of their sexy underwear-clad bartenders. 11 resident drag queens put on high-energy drag shows seven nights a week, while go-go dancers keep the dance floors thumping. If you find yourself needing a bit of fresh air, take a breather on the outdoor patio before you make your way back into the party—which is almost guaranteed to go all night long.


QUADZ Video Bar

QUADZ Video Bar is a welcoming environment located in the heart of the Fruit Loop. If you’re in search of a laid back bar with chill vibes and affordable drinks, QUADZ is a solid option. Enjoy daily drink specials like BOGO from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Down-to-earth bartenders with just the right amount of sass will make you feel right at home and make sure to pour your drinks extra strong. Relax, play the slot machines, throw some darts, or turn up for weekly poker tournaments. DJ Ricoché brings the beat for Electric Thursdaze, Top 40 Fridays, and Soundwave Saturdays, an all-request video party. 


Spotlight Lounge

No overcrowded, noisy nightclubs to see here. Spotlight Lounge is a chill gay bar and a familiar favorite for locals. Like Badlands, it’s located in the Historic Commercial Center District, which was once home to businesses frequented by the likes of Elvis Presley and the Rat Pack. Bartenders are both friendly and professional at this hole-in-the-wall lounge open 24 hours a day. Enjoy pool, darts, video blackjack, free Wi-Fi, and tunes from the jukebox. Weeknights tend to be pretty quiet, but things get more lively on the weekend and during Karaoke Night.

Temptation Sundays at the Luxor

The Luxor Hotel and Casino is home to Las Vegas’ longest-running LGBTQ+ pool party, Temptation Sundays. Every Sunday from May through September, the entire LGBTQ+ community is invited to this 21 and over event hosted by local personality J.Son. Festivities include themed parties, weekly drink specials, celebrity guests, and plenty of DJs to keep the party going from 1:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. all summer long.
