The STRAT Hotel, Casino and Skypod

The STRAT Hotel, Casino, and Skypod is now one of the most unique landmarks that can be found in the skyline of Las Vegas and standing a towering 1,149 feet high, this tower offers up the ultimate view of the world’s brightest city. In addition to providing an utterly spectacular view, the Stratosphere is also home to some of the best thrill seeking rides in the nation, wonderful accommodations and several upscale dining options.

Casino

The casino is almost as impressive as the tower itself. It is one of the city’s largest gaming floors and is updated on a consistent basis. It has slot machines and video technology that are both state of the art. There is also a bustling sports and racing book. You’ll also find an eight table poker room that is open 24 hours a day.

Amenities

The STRAT has a posh front entrance, complete with helpful valet services. The majority of the rooms are located in the Premier Tower and there are over 2,400 to choose from. Over 900 rooms have been recently remodeled (and are now known as the Skypod).

These rooms now have quality amenities, such as modern décor, MP3 alarm clocks, flat screen television sets, elegant furnishings, 240 thread count bedding and upgraded vanities and bathroom floors.

Restaurants and Bars

Guests of the STRAT are also given a number of top notch dining options to select from. Looking for a break from the gaming floor? Take a moment to enjoy a good old fashioned sock hop at Roxy’s Diner or head to Fellini’s Ristorante Italiano for a taste of the old country.

McCall’s Heartland Grill offers steak and seafood with a Midwestern twist. The STRAT also offers their guests access to a sumptuous buffet, where they can scarf down plate after plate of various world cuisine. At Top of the World, you will have the chance to enjoy eclectic cuisine and a breathtaking view of the entire city of Las Vegas. The floor of the restaurant rotates, providing guests with an unparalleled 360 degree view, the Las Vegas Strip, Mount Charleston and beyond.

Once you’ve finished your meal at Top of the World, take a walk upstairs and visit the Level 107 Lounge. They feature live music, great appetizers, cocktails and gorgeous views. The AirBar on Level 108 is an excellent spot to grab a drink and you may even see the occasional person flying by. Not to worry, though, you haven’t had a few too many.

Attractions

SkyJump is the perfect attraction for thrill seekers who do not possess a fear of heights. Visitors in search of adventure are strapped into their harness, which is then attached to a “descender machine”. From there, it is time to take that all important step off of a very narrow platform, so that you can take an 855 foot plunge.

The STRAT delivers a number of other attractions geared towards the thrill seeking types, such as the Big Shot, a shorter (but still heart pounding) ride and the X Scream, which hangs guests over the Stratosphere Tower’s ledge and leaves them there. While this only takes place for a few moments, it is long enough to allow you to appreciate the view.

Once night falls, head to the Theater of the Stars for an evening show. “Pin Up” is a sexy show that places a modern twist on the classic pin up calendar girl era. Claire Sinclair, best known as Playboy’s 2011 Playmate of the Year, is the star of the show. There’s also a cast of singers, dancers and a live six piece band. A Michael Jackson tribute show called “MJ Live” also plays at the STRAT.

Shopping

Shop-aholics can find the best deals at the Tower Shops, and if you wish to be pampered, head to the Roni Josef Salon and Spa. The eighth floor Level 8 Pool is open seasonally and allows you to grab some rays on its expansive deck.

Whether you are looking for heart pounding thrills, top notch attractions or a quality show, the Stratosphere has a various abundance of things to do in Las Vegas for visitors to enjoy.
