IN FLIGHT NARRATION
Narration, pilot commentary of the major historical landmarks and music are all offered in a manner that timed perfectly with your flight. As for guests who are not native English speakers, there are extensive language options offered to ensure an enjoyable experience for all.
Your flight takes you past the Hoover Dam, one of the most incredible feats of modern day engineering. The Hoover took over 3 million cubic yards of concrete in order to reach completion – enough to pave a highway from one side of the country to the other.
The Mojave may appear to be quite harsh and barren from a further distance, but you will be able to take a much closer look and catch a glimpse of several different habitats (such as mountains and wetlands) that shelter a vast abundance of plant, fish and animal species.
Crossing the shimmering waters and sandstone shorelines of Lake Mead is one of the most interesting parts of your journey to the Grand Canyon. Lake Mead was formed by the Hoover Dam, still has the largest capacity of any reservoir in the nation and is the largest man made lake in the United States. The thousands of plants and animals that reside in this area have all learned to apart to the unique weather conditions of the region.
As you draw closer to the Grand Canyon, you can also follow the bending path of the Colorado and take in views of a river that is 1,450 miles long and flows at a rate of over 800 million gallons per minute.
Ever found yourself wanting to visit the Grand Canyon? Well now you can. Our Grand Canyon Helicopter Flight with Landing and Rafting is a great tour for those that want to experience the canyon from top to bottom. You’ll get to experience the vastness of the canyon and float along the Colorado River just like the Hualapai Indians once did.
CHARTER TO THE RIVER
After the helicopter tour has concluded, you will land at Boulder City Airport. From there, you are transferred to a charter that delivers you to the base Hoover Dam, where you will board your raft.
